Dear Church Family,

 

The past month has been filled with reasons to celebrate God’s faithfulness and goodness. As our community grows, God is seeking faithful people through whom He can accomplish His plans. My hope is that we’re becoming a gathering of disciples increasingly aligned with His purpose in both our collective and individual lives.

 

Celebrating Marion Warren

On Wednesday, Marion Warren celebrated her 80th birthday! Many from our congregation went above and beyond to make her day special. The photos show it was truly a day to remember. Happy Birthday, Marion! You are a cherished member of our church family.

 

This Weekend’s Services

Join us for our combined service this Sunday, blending the worship styles of both congregations. We’re honoured to welcome Padre Matt Dietz from Blandford Camp as our guest speaker—let’s come together to support him as he shares God’s word.

 

In the evening, our Going Deeper gathering will bring together believers from across the deanery. We look forward to hearing from Craig Ryalls, Rector of St. Paul’s, Salisbury. Let’s dive deeper into the Presence of God together.

 

Lent Begins!

We kick off Lent with a Pancake Party on Tuesday from 4:30 to 6 pm, perfect for families with primary school-aged children. If this applies to you or someone you know, please sign up and join us!

 

On Ash Wednesday (March 5th), we’ll hold a reflective Holy Communion service with the administering of ashes at 7 pm. This liturgical service offers a powerful start to the season of fasting, prayer, and repentance. Everyone is welcome—even if it’s not your usual style.

 

Prayer and Fasting During Lent

As Lent is a time of spiritual growth, I encourage everyone to dedicate time to prayer. Here are some suggested prayer points:

• For Yourself: To grow deeper in your faith and discipleship to Jesus.

• For Our Church: Continued growth in numbers and depth of discipleship.

• For Provision: That God would provide the resources we need.

• For New Faith: That more people would come to know Jesus.

• For Guidance: Wisdom and discernment for our Staff Team, Core Team, and PCC.

• For Community Impact: Especially through our work with children, youth, and the elderly and vulnerable.

 

Looking Ahead: Holiday Club & Easter Sunday

We’re excited to host our first Holiday Club during Holy Week! While we have a fantastic team in place, more hands make light work. If you can assist, please reach out to Megan, Will, or me.

 

On Easter Sunday, Bishop Karen will join us as we celebrate baptisms and confirmations. If you’d like to be included, let Will or me know as soon as possible.

• Welcome Tea: March 23rd at 3 pm in the Parish Centre. If you’re new or haven’t attended before, please join us! RSVP to Tina if possible.

• Fifth Sunday Service: March 30th at the Garrison Church on Blandford Camp. Pre-booking is required. Sign up via ChurchSuite or contact Tina.

• Electoral Roll Renewal: This year, everyone must re-register for the electoral roll ahead of the Annual Parochial Church Meeting. You can do so online or via paper forms at the back of the church.
