Children and Schools Minister

Closing Date: Monday 29th April - 9am

Blandford Forum Parish Church has been on a journey of growth over the last couple of years both in terms of congregation size and with regards to engaging with younger generations. We long to be a church that serves the whole of our community and see Jesus transform the lives of every generation. We’ve significantly reshaped our worship to be more engaging for families and children, and increased the level of engagement with the 2 church primary schools on the town. We have a small but growing Sunday children’s ministry and now seek to build upon that work by appointing a full time Children and Schools Minister, operating as a school chaplain (in partnership with The Bridge Youth Project) 2 days a week (plus admin) and as children’s ministry lead for the remainder. The Bridge Youth Project is a Christian school’s work charity that works across 21 schools regionally, delivering innovative and impactful chaplaincy to school communities.

We’re looking for the right individual to join our team and grow the work with children and families across the town. The individual concerned will pioneer a new role partly school-based and partly church-based. They will have experience of engaging with schools, church-based children’s ministry and be able to operate independently but not uncomfortable in taking direction from others.

The church team is small but also growing, and there is a genuine sense of collaboration and commitment to seeing the church grow younger from the clergy, wardens, PCC and core team. We seek to invest in the growth of all by providing appropriate training and pastoral care. This role not only comes with a salary but also financial resources to enable ministry to grow and pioneer new activities.

For an informal conversation about the role please contact Revd Chris Beaumont – chris@bfpc.org.uk, 07922 762582 or alternately apply using the forms below and return them by email to office@bfpc.org.uk
