Saying Goodbye to the Old Parish Rooms

Say Goodbye To The Hall

Have you ever noticed a rather dilapidated building on the third side of the triangle formed by the Blandford post office and library? Well if you have, and perhaps used the old Parish Rooms over the years, you may not be aware that this hall will soon be gone and in its place, a new Parish Centre will emerge – a place where church and community can meet.

But before the old Parish Rooms go, we would like to offer you the opportunity to take a last look inside and perhaps share some memories of when you, your family members or friends used it. We are opening the Hall for the last time for an hour on Friday 2nd May, between 6.30 and 7.30. Everyone is invited to come along and share any photos, thoughts or mementoes with us. We hope to create a scrapbook which will be saved as part of the town’ history.

Perhaps you went to parties here, attended a play group, won at a beetle drive, took part in holiday clubs, Brownies or learnt to dance? Many things have gone on here – and we know of some of these, but would like to know more!
