Spring 2009 ... Prayer
Prayer is an integral part of a relationship with God, just as talking is an integral part of a human relationship. So why do we find it so difficult?
This series used the "Lifebuilder" book on Prayer with the aim of answering that - and addressing the problem!

Summer 2009: "Gifts'r'Us"
The Gifts of the Holy Spirit are much talked about and often hotly disputed! They are the subject of much misunderstanding
and, sadly, sometimes misuse and abuse. The aim of this series is to encourage us to explore them carefully and thoughtfully
with the intention of asking what God might be wanting to do with them in our lives, in our Church community, in our worship and
in the building of His Kingdom in Blandford and Langton. The hope and prayer is that we come with open minds and an expectation
that maybe God has something surprising for us!

Autumn 2009: "The Fruit of the Spirit"
Jesus' image of the Vine in John 15 says that if we want to produce fruit, as individuals or a Church, then allowing ourselves to be planted and tended by the Gardener, ensuring we receive the sustenance that deeply embedded roots can bring us and then being picked at the right time will result in a crop that the Gardener desires and longs for.
As individuals, this is seen in the crop of Fruit that Paul describes in Galatians 5:22-23. In the coming weeks, we shall be looking at this Fruit in greater detail,
but the final question is that of the purpose of fruit itself. Psalm 34:8 says "Taste and see that the LORD is good".
Just as we are attracted to the delights of fruit for the goodness they bring to our lives, so our fruit is there to attract people to what God has grown in us
and can offer them in their lives. That is our prayer for ourselves, through this coming series and every day of our lives.
