Prayer Days in the Parishes

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." Philippians 4:6

It is always good to Pray !! People are praying individually, in Home Groups, termly prayer evenings and other Prayer Groups and we have begun to hold a monthly "Prayer Day" on the last Tuesday of each month to ensure that the life of our parish is prayed for, as a parish, each month.

Prayer @ BFPC

These Prayer days consist of prayer meetings happening throughout the day:
  • At 9am at BFPC (enabling those on the school run to attend).
  • At 12noon at Langton.
  • At 8pm at BFPC.
The aim is that by holding three meetings, it is possible for everyone in the parish to attend at least one of them - or can "drop in" to a meetings.

    What happens ?

Each prayer meeting lasts about an hour and follows a similar format: some quiet or a bit of music, followed by a time of thanksgiving and a period to wait on God and see what he might be wanting to say to us. There is also a period of intercession and sharing.

What Do We Pray For ?

Whilst there will always be national and international topics for prayer, we want topics and requests which come from the people and the life of Blandford. You can send prayer to the office by either phoning 9.30-12.00 noon on weekday mornings or emailing . It would help if we could have the topics by the Sunday preceding the prayer meeting so that we can publish items for thanksgiving and prayer on the web site, along with other resources in time for the meeting.

Please come and pray with us !

For most of us praying isn't easy ! I find it much easier to pray with other people and that it is good to go to a prayer meeting where I know roughly what is going to happen and for how long ! I hope that this initiative will help you as much as I think it will help me to get prayer where it needs to be - at the centre of our church life !
