| The road we have travelled is one that is littered with Miracles - decisions going our way, unexpected funding and the simple fact that we arrive at the opening with nearly everything in place. Why? Because this is not a work which "I" (or any of my predecessors) began, this is not a work which the PCC, or anyone else, began, but a work which God has put in place. And what that means is that he is the one responsible for these miracles - because he has a purpose for the Parish Centre. The sign that this Centre is a success will not be if Church and Community groups are filling it 24/7 - but if the Kingdom of God is growing because of it being there. The PCC are already actively looking at what we are doing with this specific aim in mind - to make sure that the Centre is available and equipped, first and foremost, to build the Kingdom. |
| We have to find another £25,000 in order to see the Centre open without any debts and we would ask you to consider contributing towards making February 27th and 28th, the days when the Centre will formally be opened, a "Thanksgiving Weekend". We want to thank God for his Vision for this Project, for his Provision of Resources to make it happen and for his Guidance throughout the Project and into the future. |
|
| The PCC have decided that we want to thank God for his generosity to us by being generous to others and that we will Tithe the Gifts on the Opening Weekend, giving the money to a project connected with our link mission partners in the Sudan, in order to be able to bless others as we have been blessed by God. I approached Bishop Francis Loyo in the Sudan with the idea and received the following (edited) reply: |
|
| "Thank you very much in your prayers and your continuous sacrifices for the Christians in the Sudan. You have been of help to our schools in Rokon and we think of you and pray for Blandford Churches. There is much activity in the Diocese as infrastructures were all destroyed, including churches. We were praying under a big tree but now we are trying to put up a church in town which requires putting up of corrugated iron sheets and windows as well as doors. We have estimated the cost will go up to 8 thousand US Dollars but your contribution is highly appreciated. Your support has come in a good time when we need back up, please. Very kind of you and may the Lord bless you and your congregations." |
Our tithed Gifts will see building work moved forward in Blandford and in the Sudan - a wonderful opportunity! |
