Blandford Forum Parish Church (BFPC) is inviting businesses and individuals in the Blandford area to help raise the final funds for Parish Centre being
built in the Tabernacle area of the town by sponsoring a plank which will be used as the fascia for the building. Each plank can be sponsored for the amount of 75.

The planks to be Sponsored will be used on the outside walls of the Centre and will be fully visible from the road. The planks will be made up from cedar wood from a sustainable source and Sponsorship will be recognised on a 'wall of fame' at the entrance to the Parish Centre. The Parish hopes that Businesses will sponsor the Centre in this way, as well as individuals using it as an opportunity to remember a person or special occasion. All sponsors will be invited to one of the open days when the Centre is completed
The Centre, which will be available for use by the Church and the Community in the Spring will offer a large hall, seating up to 100 people, and two meeting rooms, seating up to 20 people in each. All rooms will offer high quality IT and Audio Visual facilities and Garden access. A fully equipped modern kitchen and toilet facilities will also be available. The Centre is on one level and is fully accessible to all users. The space can be used flexibly to accommodate group needs. The building has been designed and built to demonstrate sound environmental principles.
The vision behind the project is to build "A place where Church and Community meet". In practice, this means individuals, businesses and both Church and community groups. The facilities will be suitable for training, conference and business purposes as well as social activities for all ages. It will offer a fine location for wedding receptions and other social events, and will aim to provide a place where the community can meet and chat at times.
The Centre will cost an estimated £560,000 but faces a current shortfall of around £30,000.
The Rector of Blandford Forum, Rev Tim Storey, said "The Centre will be a part of Blandford life for many decades to come and it is our hope that Sponsors will see this as a way to leave a lasting record which will be seen by many people through the years to come."
