2009 Light Parties
Light Parties!

Light Parties are being held by two Churches in Blandford on Halloween on Saturday 31st October as an alternative to the Trick'or'Treat activities taking place in the town. Jointly run by Blandford Forum Parish Church and Blandford Evangelical Church, the parties aim to celebrate the light of the Christian faith, contrasting with the darkness of modern Halloween celebrations.

Three parties will be taking place, catering for different age groups in different locations:
  • "Light Party" is for the age group in the Reception to Year 2 and will take place from 4.00-5.30pm at Blandford Evangelical Church.
  • "Light Burst" is for those in school years 3 to 6 and will take place at The Corn Exchange in the Market Square from 5.30-7.00pm.
  • The "In 2 D'Lite :" Party is for years 7 to 9 and will follow on from the Light Burst party at the Corn Exchange and will take place from 7.00-8.30pm.

    Tickets for all the parties are priced £2.50 and are available from The Parish Office at the back of Blandford Parish Church, Blandford Evangelical Church office and Set 4 For Trade in Salisbury Street. Everyone who comes is asked to dress in bright clothes and prizes will be on offer for the best and brightest costumes.
