Plans For 2012
There are a number of aspects to the project which are starting to take shape...
The PCC are meeting with prospective architects with a view to appointing shortly.
The Cupola Project Committee has been formed and is meeting for the first time.
Plans for a launch of The Friends of BFPC are well underway.
The coming year will see a series of concerts and events as part of the growing Project.
Concerts in 2012
3rd March 2012 at 7.30pm - The Mill Singers
They are a male voice choir based in Sturminster Newton with a very varied repertoire. So something for everyone! Tickets are £7.00 and can be purchased either on the night or from the Church Office or from SET FAIR 4 TRADE. If you are a member of the Friends of BFPC, tickets are £6.00. Please come and support us - all proceeds are to go to the Cupola Project.
9th March 2012 at 7.30pm - BFPC Allsorts Craft Club
Allsorts are holding a FUN QUIZ NIGHT. The tickets for this are £7.00 to include a lovely supper of Homemade Soup, a selection of Cheeses, Crusty Bread, and a Fresh Fruit Salad. All the proceeds to the Cupola Project. Tickets as before can be purchased from the Church office or from SET FAIR 4 TRADE. We are looking for teams of 6 people.
24th March - Blandford Choral Society
The Choral Society are again performing in the church, this time they will be singing Faure's Requiem. Please book the 24th March into your diaries. - this is a very special & beautiful piece of music and its coming to you right on your door step. Come and be mesmerised. More details to follow.
April 21st - Royal Over-Seas League
The ROSL are organizing a concert in the church. This will be an eclectic mix of musical styles - more details when the programme is confirmed. Half of the proceeds will be going to the Cupola Project - so please support us again and ask all your friends, and neighbours to come along and enjoy an evening out at the fraction of the cost of having to go to Poole/Bournemouth!
October - Gravellers
The Gravellers are a superb Male Voice group. They sing with no accompaniment and are utterly breath taking to listen to (they are also very nice to look at!)
June 29th 2011 - Launching The Project
In a public meeting in Church, members of the PCC will be presenting the plans for the Cupola Project to representatives from the Heritage bodies, local Government, local community groups and the Diocese, along with members of the public.
June 26th 2011 - Blandford Bridge Run Raises £1000
The Blandford Bridges Run, a 10k "fun" (!) Run around the town nominated the Cupola Project as the main sponsor for 2011. It is expected to raise £1000 in sponsorship for the project.
May 27th - 29th 2011 - "A Sense of Awe"
"A Sense of Awe" was an Arts Festival held over the Bank Holiday Weekend which was aimed at beginning to make the community aware of the Project and raise some funds for the launch. £1500 was raised through and an amazing array of arts, crafts, music and much, much more - click here to see the photos of the weekend.
