The Total is Announced!! |
BFPC gave £570 to the congregation in £10 notes in the morning service on Sunday 12th July!As part of the Fund Raising effort to see the completion of the Parish Centre being built in the Tabernacle area of the town, the group behind the project looked at the parable told by Jesus Christ in Matthew 25 where a man gave money to his workers and asked them to put the money to work and multiply them. The aim was to encourage people to be creative in the use of the money in order to see a maximum return on the investment. In the Biblical parable, two of the workers turned their single "talent" (worth about £1000 in today's money) into a tenfold and fivefold return, whilst Jesus scolded the worker who hid his talent away and did nothing with it. BFPC was hoping for a good return on the investment, as well as to discover new talents through the project. |
This means a net return of £6873 on an investment of £570 of £12.06 for every £1 invested! So how did it happen ....? Everything from an 8 hour piano recital, a knitting marathon, home made jam, apple pies, quiz evening, coffee mornings and much, much more. Rosy and Tony Coldwell celebrated their Silver Wedding Anniversary as part of the Talents initiative... Some photos of events that took place are below ... (Click on the pics to see a big version). |
