Farewell To The Courts

After three and a half years in Blandford, it was time for us to say "Farewell" to the Court Family as Martin, Julie, Simon and Charlotte headed off to the big lights of St Chads, Chadwell Heath where Martin is to be Vicar from 9th March. Due to the snow and ice, our jazz band guests, 44 Jazz had to cancel at the last minute but it was probably a good thing as we have no idea where we would have put them! Well over a hundred turned up and enjoyed a bring and share tea (with the last gourmet offering of Julie's Malteser Cake) and a bizarre mix of entertainment - all with a flavour of the Mystical East: a rendering of "Wouldn't It Be Luvverly" from Gerry, Angela, Imogen and Rosy, a burst of "Ernie" (complete with bottles and churn) from the dodgiest looking milkmen in the South West, and a lesson in Liturgical Excellence (with a slight reference or two to the Chav Communities of Essex). And then some presents, including the "Britannia Duck" and the "Holy Toast" presents Martin had mentioned in the Carol Service as well as some highly-valued momentos of Blandford for Julie. More importantly, there was a Bakestball and Hoop for Simon and charlotte, some art materials for Julie and the promise of a Study Bible 9when it is reprinted) for Martin. Martin, Julie, Simon and Charlotte ... "The Lord Be Wiv You" ...
