DWC consists of Clive Thomas (Team Vicar of Shaston) on Drums, Graham Perryman (Team Rector of the Melbury Team) on Keyboards, Geoff Boland (Team Vicar in Canford Magna) on Guitar and Vocals, Laurie Clow (Team Vicar at Hampreston) on Bass Guitar and Tim Storey (Rector of Blandford Forum) on Guitar and Vocals.

Off The Leash

DWC formed two years ago after some of the clergy concerned were involved in providing musical worship at a Diocesan Conference. Since then they have played for a variety of private, local functions including birthday parties and Church events. The concert at the Corn Exchange in Blandford marks a change to more public events and later in the spring they are due to play outside Wimborne Minster as part of the town’s folk festival.

In recent months, the band have recorded two tracks at the new recording suite at the Blandford School and have attracted interest from national TV radio, including “The Richard and Judy Show” and Radio 2’s Aled Jones.

Guitarist and vocalist Tim Storey, said “Five vicars playing rock and roll is a bit of a novelty and not quite what people expect from the clergy. Dogs Without Collars is something which we do for fun – but it also aims to send out the message that Christians are like everyone else and enjoy rock music. We are looking forward to the gig immensely!”

The concert at the Corn Exchange is on Saturday 15th March, from 7.30 -11.00pm and is in aid of the Mayor of Blandford’s Charities, the Parish Church Guide Unit and Panda Pre-School. Tickets, priced £8 for Adults and £5 for Children are available from The Town Clerk’s Office, Jean’s The Newsagent and Set Fair For Trade in Salisbury Street.
