BFPC Heating Work - October/November 2006

The work on replacing the heating pipes in BFPC commenced on October 16 and, as you can probably guess, the church is in quite a state. On this page, you will find updates on the state of the work and current information on access and events.

    • Update - Tuesday November 7

    All is on target to finish the work in the next few days - the new pipework is painted (thanks to all who helped) and we now need to clean up !! All hands on deck for the cleaning party at 10am on Saturday morning ! Read the Press Release about completion ... BFPC reopens after Heating Work is Completed.

    Update - Thursday November 2

    The newpipe work is almost in and there is even heat from some of the radiators and pipes !! To give the workmen time to finish on time, we are back at the Corn Exchange again on Sunday. Lots more painting is needed and a big cleaning party ! Look at the pics above (click on them to get a big version) and you'll see why !

    Please note that all Church-based events will restart on Monday 13 November !

    Update - Thursday October 26

    The old pipe work is out and the freshly painted (thanks Stuart, Terry and Co) is now going in. To give the workmen time to get on with the job, we are relocating to the Corn Exchange again this Sunday for an All Age Service.

    Update - Tuesday October 17

    Much of the pipe work in the chuirch is being removed and the floor covering is being taken up to allow access to pipework. The British Legion Banners have been removed for safe keeping.

    Please note the following:
  • The Church is CLOSED until next week at the earliest. This will enable the work to progress without having to put everything back for next weekend.
  • The Church Office is also CLOSED although Su will be taking messages from home (450442). Please could you avoid any unnecessary office business for the next few weeks as Jackie and Su’s presence in the office will be limited.
  • This Sunday’s Service at BFPC will be in the Corn Exchange. Please pass this information on to anyone who might need to know.
  • There will be a CLEANING PARTY when the work is complete – possibly on SATURDAY 11 NOVEMBER. This will be a major exercise and everyone who can make it will be very, very welcome !
